Yet another recall. This time for low beams that don't illuminate when the high beams are activated

What is a recall?
When a manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines that a vehicle creates an unreasonable risk to safety or fails to meet minimum safety standards, the manufacturer is required to fix that vehicle at no cost to the owner. That can be done by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund (for equipment) or, in rare cases, repurchasing the car.

What should I do if my vehicle is included in this recall?
If your vehicle is included in this recall, it is very important that you get it fixed as soon as possible given the potential danger to you and your passengers if it is not addressed. You should receive a separate letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, notifying you of the recall and explaining when the remedy will be available, whom to contact to repair your vehicle, and to remind you that the repair will be done at no charge to you. Yeah, those lights would have been REALLY USEFUL last weekend on narrow twisty roads during a hard night-time rain.

This MAY be a Freightliner chassis software issue that does not affect 2017 Dutchstar 4369 with Spartan chassis. Our 2017 4369 Spartan coach does not have this problem.

Spoke to a rep from Newmar. Apparently my 2016 isn't affected by "THIS" recall campaign however I seem to have the issue that my low beams turn off when the high beams are activated.

Since the 2017's have a different headlight array they can be corrected by a software update but in the case of my 2016, engineers are looking at the issue and they'll come out with a whole different recall campaign that will require a wiring harness upgrade. So, for now, It's just a wait and see game.
