Chassis manual says that my dash should indicate if the antennae is up. However, it doesn't. Looking at the MADP webpage it has this listed as a feature, DSDP doesn't.
Can I conclude that this is on some coaches and not others due to cost/antennae model? I have a crank up antennae. Do the the EX and MA have power antennae w/indicators to the dash?

I use the off air antenna so infrequently I can't answer your questions. My last coach, a '02 DSDP did not have an indicator unlike my '99 MA. Not using it frequently makes it ever more likely you might forget it up. In that light, I always hung my keys on the crank handle if ever I used it. That guaranteed I couldn't forget.

Hi! The Essex has a power antennae. The MADP has the crank up type. I do get an indicator light, which comes on when you start the coach. I cannot remember if my 06 DSDP had one. Paul

On my Essex, the power antennae controls are in the passenger side cabinet above the entry steps. The power switch has lights which indicate when the antennae is up or retracted. I have never seen any reference to the antennae on the dash controls, but if so it might serve as a good reminder to lower it.

To; All re; Antenna Up indicator,
On my 02 MADP, the RED< BLINKING, antenna light is in the instrument cluster about 3/8 inch round.
It's hard to miss, if you check guages, etc.
Hope this helps.
Aime

Mine is the same as Chuck's....
The few times I've used the antenna,I've left the compartment door open as the light from the booster and the left/right indicators catches your eye.

There are many tips and tricks for remembering your antennae is up.
The point here is that there is a dash warning that was designed in that is hooked up on some and not on other coaches. It is the same for the wiring on the Under Step Light.
I spoke w/Newmar and the first line of support has no idea.

Bob, on our setup, do you or anyone else ever have a hard time getting exactly the right position for the antenna to retract and extinguish the "up" light? For those who do not have the automatic antenna, there is a powered switch which raises it and two switches below it which turn the antenna and rotate it for lowering in the correct position.
My problem is that it must be very sensitive to getting exactly the right spot in order for the "up" light to go out. Anyone else?

Sound like it needs an adjustment, Charlie. Mine turns center and retracts with one push of the button and no indicator light on after.

Peter is correct...
All I ever do is hit "travel" and the antenna rotates back to position and stows...

That is one thing I forgot to mention at the factory; I meant to ask as it is no easy task to get on the roof and check it out. You can bet that I won't be turning around and returning to Nappanee just for that!
