We had no issues for the first 2 months (3500 miles), when our Girard awnings did not retract (in a sudden gust of wind-Las Cruces) and all 3 arms shattered.

Roger, the refrigerator in my '07 Essex was a Dometic Model NDA1402.
Sadly, I remembered the model number entirely from memory, which doesn't bode well for Dometic.
I've stayed in touch with George and Carol and they've certainly their own issues with the BBT.
Must've been a bad week on the line.....

I have been to 2 different Dealers, one twice and the other once. All visits with the same issues.
Issue #1 Kitchen slide, Dealer one, said there is a problem 'But' there is nothing he could do about it!!
Dealer two did a very extensive check, agreed there is a problem But said the fix is beyond there expertise and advised me Coach would likely have to go to Napanee, They contacted Newmar for me and I now have a date at Camp Newmar.
This dealer also repaired the awning over the door. It works better now than it ever did, and the rear A/C would short cycle, they diagnosed this as a faulty capacitor and a controller board is on order.
Issue #2 Water dispenser not working.
After some extensive trouble shooting and experimenting I came to the conclusion the line was freezing. I have tried to lower setting and putting styrofoam in bottom of freezer compartment but the line still freezes.
So to answer your ?? I did leave the dealer with some issues not fixed 'But' Dealer #2 took the necessary steps to get them fixed.
Looking forward to Camp Newmar
Rick
PS #2 Dealer was 'The RV Warehouse' in Cookstown

It wasn't the dealer, it was the Lazy Daze factory in California. We bought a 31ft Class C from the factory, flew out to order it, flew back to pick it up and drove it back to Michigan. In the three years we owned it we never had one issue.
That's good, since they don't use dealers and the trip back to the factory would have been a long one!

Bob sounds like the fan cooling issue that Gary had with his Dometic.

Weve had a problem with about everything in our coach except for the Allison Transmission. Have about everything fixed mostly by myself dealing directly with the manufacturers. Im tellin ya, its been about everything. Now our small issues are the coach being five years old.

Welcome FOLEYMECH to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Some of us do seem to have some problems with any coach we may own.
Don't no why just the nature of the beast.
Hope things have calm down and you can enjoy the high gas or diesel prices.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Here is something that I posted a while back when we all were talking about RV Quality control, but I believe it is relevant to this discussion also.
These are some words from the Chief Financial Officer of Country Coach that appeared in fall issue of the Country Coach Destinations magazine: "A motorcoach is more than a custom house that is mounted on a truck. A car has around 4,000 parts that are typically per-formed and installed through a robotics process. A motorcoach has around 20,000 parts that are mostly formed and installed by hand. Not only does this create a significant amount of complexity, but it also creates a uniqueness and personality to each coach." Not all of our coaches are Hi-Lines but the principle of manufacturing is the same, regardless of brand and model. This statement may add some perspective to understanding why RV manufacturing quality and be what it is, it does for me.
When is the last time anyone bought something as complicated as our Motorhomes without having something not quite up to OUR standards?
