My dutch Star does not have an inverter and I plan to do Alaska next year so I picked up a 2500 w inverter with a three stage charger. Has anyone installed such a beast? I am new to this DSDP and it is a whole lot more complex than my old Winne Super Chief. I was also thinking of adding a set of solar panels so if anyone has experience on that front love to hear as well.
New to this forum but you all seem quite knowledgable.

For the solar side www.amsolar.com is positively the best bet - particularly their BP Solar panels.

Remember, AK has a very low angle sun and tends to be mostly cloudy. Neither is conducive to solar use - especially typical RV flat mounted roof installations.

shirlock1 - Welcome to this Forum, glad to have you aboard.

I can vouch the AM Solar installation, I have 300 Watts of panels with an HPV-22B charge controller installed on my coach. I am extremely happy its performance and installation. Outperforms solar installations that I had on our 2 previous coaches. AM Solar equipment is a bit pricer than most but panels and charge controllers are top of the line equipment. With solar I have learned the hard lesson of "you get what you pay for".
