Anyone removed the love seat?
Much to our surprise, The love seat rarely gets used in our 18 Dutch star. Has anyone removed and replaced it with something else?? Storage? desk? Hutch? Fireplace?

We have the 4369. No love seat but we did have two recliners. We thought they were comfortable when we sat in them at Newmar, but after using them on a couple trips they weren’t that comfortable. We took them out and replaced them with Stressless chairs and foot rests. Very comfortable. My brother took his loveseat out and had a cabinet built with a computer station.

We had the love seat deleted from our order and had a desk built after delivery. When dealing with Newmar during the order process, they inquired if I wanted the brackets for the love seat installed which I declined. Not sure what the brackets consist of, but just wanted a bare floor to attach the desk to. Although Newmar knew I was installing a desk, someone apparently didn't get the memo and installed seat belts anyway.

Here are a couple pictures of the desk I had built. We are full time and since this is our home, I needed ample space for file storage as well as a place for my copier/printer, lsptop, and other office incidentals which this provides. I also had a cabinet built in the bedroom as my DW didn't have a place for all her cloths washing supplies. The company that did the work is Davis Cabinets in Coburg OR. Great quality work. This is the 3rd coach that they have installed a desk in for us

We removed the love seat also
We had ours removed by Newmar shortly after we purchased the coach. Here is the post with pictures. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/2015...cs-273810.html

I've seen a few remove it and have a custom something put in such as this company does:
https://www.braddandhall.com/productcart/pc/home.asp
Keep in mind it may have a bump up underneath and not just flat floor based on the slide motor routing.
Resale may be something to consider if rotating coaches often. Opposing seating seem to be better for resale.

I will be following this thread as we have discussed removing our opposing love seat to put in a desk. We will be going to the FMCA rally in Perry as there will be a Elkhart based firm there that we want to talk to.
We think about resale too, but we really have no plans to change out what we have, so its probably a moot point.

I didn't worry about resale as our prior coach with the desk sold in less than a month. While I know the majority of coaches have a couch and a love seat, I wonder how often both are used or needed. We tend to keep our coaches for at least 5 years or more, resale is less of an issue as they age.

When we ordered our coach, I didn’t even think about removing it. Now that we’ve had it for 6months and 8200 miles, i know what I’ll order for next time. Well probably sell our coach end of summer/early fall and get another coach built.
