What do ya' mean?

The standard "king RV" mattress is 72 x 80 (LxW) with the foot corners rounded or radius-ed (they are not square like the head corners). A true standard king is 76 x 80, hence the RV "king" is 4 inches shorter and has those rounded off foot-end corners from a true standard king. (BTW Cal kings are 72x84)

Select Comfort makes that funky RV king - sold exclusively thru Camping World - it is the shorter rounded corner version of a true king. The Select Comfort ordering hot line at one time did not even know about this model - only CW has it. I know of one couple that just put a standard Select Comfort king in an EX and it basically worked, it just pops up a little when slides are closed due to the 4 extra inches. There is also less walking clearance when slides are open as the corners are square and not rounded and thus stick out a little. The standard king corners also hang over the foundation which has the rounded corners as well.

I have found the "expanded queen" a.k.a. "olympic queen" fitted sheets and mattress pad (also available thru Select comfort) fit the RV king best. Nice and tight and the Select comfort brand sheets have the elastic straps under each corner further keeping them tight. Fortunately the flat sheet in the Select Comfort exp queen set is about 91 wide so it doesn't hang too terribly far down the sides like a standard king flat sheet does.

Is that the kind of stuff you are asking about?

I know about the size differences. What I was specifically asking about was the radius corners. How much is rounded off on the SC mattress compared to the Comfortaire we have now. The picture on the CW site shows the corner is cut back 12" from a normal (square) corner. I measured our current mattress and the cut-back is more like 4" on that one. Maybe only 3". (I didn't strip the bed completely when I measured). That's a huge difference, and having that much of the platform sticking out from under the mattress would be a problem.

In the end, we ordered the non-radius corner model. It was something like $500 less, and for that difference I can get Newmar to make me a new platform part if we really need it.
