Stay away from Bull Head City, AZ and the surrounding area during the summer months and you should be fine.

Should be fine. Just get the largest units you can.

Two 15k units on our 40' Dutch Star do quite well. But make sure if you park under trees for the shade, that you check for leaves/tree junk blocking your cooling find, if staying in one place more than a few days. Trust me on this.

The eternal question: do I have enough X. The eternal answer: you never have enough

We have a 2016 VTDP 3725, a 38' Newmar. We have camped in Las Vegas in direct sun, at 114 degrees and our two ACs worked fine. We have a problem with our rear temperature sensor so we had to keep turning the thermostat up because the bedroom became a meat locker, 68 degrees.

Most Newmar owners will tell you that the insulation in Newmars makes a big difference. Our experience is they are correct. So go out there and try it, but don't forget to post your adventure here . Most important is to make sure if your ACs are not keeping your coach cool is to verify they are working properly. Can't remember who but a Newmar owner posted here about AC not cooling. Upon testing found that the AC was broke.

External window shades help a lot, direct sunlight on double pane windows will still radiate the heat into the RV. I added shades for the windows that were 6" wider and Magnashade for the windshield and driver's side window; the shades made a big improvement for my mocha colored Bay Star..

My 40' DSDP has the two 15k units and it is mostly black. I have Magneshades but have NOT installed or used them yet. It was about 96 degrees in Glamis today and there is of course zero shade. We have the ACs set at 68 and they still cycle off occasionally.

I'd say 2 15ks are plenty in a 40' DSDP. The insulation is a big part of it. It'd be even better with the Magneshades and a lighter color.

Double awnings on both sides and a roof almost covered with solar panels would provide the shade from the sun when there are no trees.

There's a big difference in 90's in the dessert SW and 90's anywhere from South Texas to Florida. When we camp at race venues, it takes all 3 AC's during the day, mostly because of the humidity. There's no opening the windows at night even if it cools down to the 80's. When I travel to AZ, the 90's in the shade feels very pleasant.
