Are the DS folding dinette chairs comfortable?
If you use your Dutch Star folding dinette chairs, do you find them comfortable?
Would you be willing to use them all the time in place of the fixed chairs?
Can you post some pics? or pm me for an email address.
Thanks

They seem to be just as comfortable.

Can't get a picture, right now, but we have used them on several occasions. They are comfortable, enough. Can't really see much difference with the "non folding" ones. My grand daughter prefers this one...

Our Bay Star folding chairs are comfortable. The fixed chairs are in the basement of our S & B.

I don't find the fixed dinette chairs to be very comfortable, and actually prefer the folding chairs. The back on the folding chairs is almost vertical making it difficult for me to relax in them. By comparison, the folding chairs have quite a bit more angle to them, which is what my back prefers. It will certainly be a matter of personal preference.

Those are the same chairs that are in our Bay Star. The fixed ones lasted only till we got the rig back home.

We prefer the folding chairs, wish we had three of them instead of just two. We use one fixed, and one folding. One folding is stored in the closet, and one fixed at S&B. If we had our druthers, we'd ditch the fixed chair altogether.

We went for 4 folding chairs as a special order so we did not have to get 2 of the uncomfortable fixed chairs.

If you have a wide butt, like mine, the fixed chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. They have a triangle shape support on both sides of the seat, (base supporting the back rest) and it catches you on the side. You can see it in the photos posted above. The folding chairs are more comfortable.
When we bought our coach, it came with the booth. We tried it, but hated it. I bought the table with buffet and replaced the booth. Even though we had the booth, the coach still came with the two folding chairs. If I had known how uncomfortable the fixed chairs were and what crappy material they used, I would have bought two more folding instead. The material on ours is a shiny slick surface that stains if you even look at it funny.
We eventually disliked the chairs so much, I bought four new ones from an RV chair manufacturer that fit better and were more comfortable.
The chair on the left is our new chair and the one on the right is the Newmar chair. The company we bought from makes the folding chair and fixed chair identically, but adds a folding mechanism. The fixed chair seat cushion has a hinge and allows for storage under the cushion.

Correction: I meant to say that the back of the fixed chairs is almost vertical making it difficult for me to relax in them.

Excellent information!!
This feedback is very helpful.
(I've read this forum every day for 2 ½ years, and this is the first time I recall any comments about the fixed chairs being uncomfortable.)
