DW and I are on the first leg of a summerlong voyage of discovery in our new (to us) 2004 KSDP. Sure beats travel in a 17' Casita - altho we spent many thousands of miles aver a number of years in it. But a little bow to Papa's age seemed in order. :-))

I don't seem to be able to come across the instructions for the stove unit in our unit. It's an Atwood 3 burner with rotary striker unit. The are a coupe of minor "ticks" about it wabout which I am curious. First, try as we might we don't seem to be abe to fire up the burners with the built in striker. It seems to spark - but no joy - which suggests to me that we have a gas flow problem. Second little issue is that it blackens DW's pots in use. Not horribly, but enough to be most annoying.

My guess is that we aren't getting enough air (O2) in the mix - but darn if I no how to address the issue if that's it.

Perhaps one of you could offer some sage advice - which our thanks.

Jim Baird

Jim - We have the three burner Atwood stove and DW loves it. On the first issue, sometimes you need to let the gas flow for a bit before hitting the striker. On the second issue, if your pots are blackened by the flame, that might indicate a problem with the gas/air adjustment and may also be the answer to your first problem. With an older unit, the burners may be gunked up and I think you might want a dealer to look at it and adjust if so.
