The audible alarm on my turn signals, four way flashers has become very quiet. It's now just barely there. Any ideas what caused it to stop making noise?

Clongfellow, welcome to iRV2.

I'm sure someone will have an idea.

What chassis is your '98 Dutch Star on?

When that happens to me, I change batteries in my hearing aids.

That didn't help much, did it?

If you are lucky, the chime box that makes the noise came loose and fell down behind something in the dash. If you are unlucky, like me, you will have to replace the box. In my case the new box was so loud I had to tape up the speaker outlet to quiet it back down.

Thanks guys for the replies this morning. I needed a good laugh. Maybe I should "get" a hearing aid... The Dutch Star is on a Freightliner chassis and yes the sound did take some getting used to. Very loud, but I did get used to it and wanted it back. Anyway I figured out the problem. The little flasher unit was going out and after replacing it, everything is back to normal. Again thanks and safe travels...

Welcome to the forum both of you and irv2.
If you have a panel on top of dash board open it and you will find your fuse panels.
If thats not it look under the dash and you may find it taped to wiring harness under dash.

I have a '99 DSDP. I had the same problem. I schooched my old fat body on the floor, found the flasher, unplgged it, being careful that I could find the other end again.

I then took caned air and blew it off, then I took electronic cleaner and sprayed on the prongs, then I sprayed E.C. on the plug, I plugged it back in and--

WA LA!! It was louder. My wife STILL says I am deaf, but at least I can now hear my flasher.
