Auto power cord rewinder

We have the power cord rewinder on our coach. While pulling the cord in, when I release the button, the reel springs back letting some of the cord slop back out. Is this normal behavior? It seems like there should be a pawl or brake to prevent the reel from reversing direction.

There have been problems with the electrical contacts of the reel this link is found in QT'# 3.
If there are contact problems they may cause problems with brake system of reel.

That's pretty much how mine works. However I had to widen the Cord Guide by removing the Vertical Restrictors (for lack of a better word) so I could guide the cord onto the reel.

I don't have that issue with mine. It has worked perfectly since I got it.

I have not had any issues with mine either ... but I did remove the two (2) inside vertical guide rollers like danleininger did so I can use my hand to guide the cord from side to side as I wind it in to better fit on the reel. When I do let off of the power switch, the reel will back-off slightly until it catches, but I just think that is normal. It may result in maybe 4" of cord length slack.
