I may be pushing the envelope on this one but I have to try. There are two auxillary outlets on the dash (cigarette lighter type)for plugins. Thinking that they would work when the ignition is on, I was surprised to find out they didn't. Bringing this to the attention to the dealer, they told me that they worked off the inverter. Ok, I turned on the inverted plugged my GPS into one and it still didn't work, no power. I turned on the genny and tried it again, still no power. Anybody got any suggestions before I go back to the dealer and insist that they fix it.

Koalava,
We have an '03 Dutch Star and both 12volt accessory outlets in the dash are hot even with the ignition switch off. I would have them look at it, could be as simple as a fuse blown.

Thanks Larry, I'll certainly do just that.

My outlets did not work either------blown fuse in the basement below the drivers seat.

siggyd, Welcome to irv2
You are correct its a fuse, for those of us that don't have a DP it would be located under panel on dash board in front of steering wheel.
siggyd, ask for some KARMA its for free, as a new member on Newmar Forum. "007"

Siggyd, I had alredy found the problem thanks to Larry. I went out and started going over the fuses and there it was, or should I say there it wasn't. There was no fuse to be found where it was suppose to be. A 20 amp fuse took care of the problem. Thanks guys......still getting used to the beast....by the way are they still handing out "Karma"? the way things have been going here latley, I could use a little.
Thanks again all
Harry

Glad to hear you solved your problem Koalava. The "inverter" statement by your dealer just didn't make sense. The inverter "receives" power from the 12 volt battery system, it then "produces" (well, technically it inverts it ) 120 volt AC power and supplies it to certain AC outlets. The inverter doesn't power any 12 volt outlets so ther's no way it could have anything to do with those 12 volt power receptacles.
By the way, I've modified your Karma to show you as a Newmar Owners Forum Member. Welcome to iRV2.
