Awning Fail to Open

Hi, I have a 2011 Mountain Aire and have been travelling since end of January without awning trouble. Today the main awning (passenger side) and entrance door awning failed to extend. Driver window and oposite side window awning function fine. I noted earlier posts about water causing motor issues but the last rain we had was over a week ago and I used the awnings after that without issue. Any ideas? If not I will call Newmar Monday.

Darrell

Have you checked if power is present. May be a fuse, but a fuse needs a reason to burn out. Probably best to let the warranty cover repair of the cause.

One of my bedroom slides stopped working--loose wire at the wall switch. Pull your switch and check.

Welcome to the Newmar forum & irv2 Darrell & Ruth.
If you have any switch's outside for awning pull off switch and check for water corrosion behind switch.
We had someone with reverse operation of two switch's but that seems not to be your problem but thats why I said check outside switch.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Hi - thx for the quick responses. In the light of day discovered some of my bedroom plugs-ins did not work either. As it turned out the GFC outlet in the rear bathroom had to be reset. Interesting that the main awning, door entrance awning, bedroom tv plug in and rear bathroom GFC are all on the same circuit.

Have a great day!

Darrell

Yes on your coach all the awnings are 120 volts ac and will go through a GFCI plug.
