John I can't remember why he said to unplug them, but I was aware of discussion here on the forum about inadvertent deployments.

One of the reasons for unplugging is the thermal shut down issue. If someone runs the awnings in and out too many times in a short period, it can cause the awnings to shut down. If they shutdown after you pushed the OUT button, they will remember that last command. When they cool off, they can extend.
