Awning on my BayStar Sport

I found how I can adjust the angle/pitch of the Awning when deployed but I don't see anything about if I can close the awning once I set the angle I like. Will it be damaged I close or the wind sensor closes the awning when I have it at about 45 degree angle.

Good question. When I was in Nappanee I was told to extend the arms before retracting it. If you try it the other way let us know how it goes.

Assuming you mean manually pull down the awning and then tighten the hand wheels on the arms, to pitch one side or the other. I've done this when it's raining and then forgotten and closed it and it seems to have teh ability to force it back up no problem. I don't think I'd do it on purpose and you'll hear it go but it doesn't seem to hurt much.

My awning is an electric by Demetic and it has a pressure pin on what I will call the lower arm. It allows me to lower the angle of the awning considerably. Question I have will I damage anything if I retract the awning in the lower setting or if the wind sensor does. I am out on the road camping and I would hate to create a fatal error away from home.

I didn't think the awnings on the Sport would automatically close due to wind but maybe so. I asked about the lock knob and was told to always loosen it before retracting.

That's what I've seen, I have the electric awning as well, no wind sensor. Like I said I've forgotten that I had it tilted and closed it, it'll make a loud snap when the pressure causes it to go but it hasn't seemed to hurt.

It may depend on how tight one turns the knob.

I have the electric with the push pins to adjust the different lengths to pitch the awning. I was told when I picked it up that you can close it as long as you are not more the 3 holes difference between each side. I haven't had to try it yet.
