Bad stone chip

I noticed a bad chip in my finish (17 VTLE DP), I dabbed it with the Newmar touchup paint but this seemed to go pretty deep. What’s the risk here-anything significant? I can live with the cosmetics but could this 8mm ish damage lead to further issues? Click image for larger version

I would have it fixed not only to prevent other issues but that’s my opinion

Is that in the 3M front shield or just regular paint?

Regular paint just behind front slide door side (no FWS on this one)

You can slowly build that up...just don't rush it. Every few hours, dab some paint on. It's not going to hurt the original paint job. It kind of looked like a chop out of the 3M film. Never touch those up, as the paint will run under the film.

Good idea, I’ll give that a go

To have it fixed 100% would be quite extensive $$. As don said keep building it up, at some point it can be sanded (very carefully with 1000 sandpaper by someone skilled to do so) and polished to minimize its existence.

Another good idea. Thanks Stuart-I’ll do that after I finish building up the area.
