basement door gas struts

I want to replace most (8) of the struts they are
GSNI-5300-10 Gas Spring 10 Lb With Plastic Ends 20"

does only 10lbs sound about right or should I up them to 20lbs?

the two rear doors are actually larger than the others.

I just had to do that as well. Another member of the site put me onto these folks:

Future Sales, Inc..

To insure I was getting the proper struts I was asked to measure the extended length of the struts and send a photo of the nomenclature printed on the strut tubes to their email address. Good people to work with and delivery was three days.

I don't know how many doors you are dealing with, but I recently had a similar issue needing gas struts for the rear trunk hatch on my 2002 Safari Trek, and found it was well worth pricing various strengths of struts, I my case I replaced the stock 10 pound strut was the next step stronger as the price per strut was about 40% less. Sure that is only a few dollars per strut, but it adds up.
