Basement doors
I swear that before driving away from anywhere I giggle the basement doors to test them for being locked and latched. Yet every once in a while I'll see a door swing when going around a corner. I have begun to winder if doors spring open as the coach flexes going thru the camp ground. Anyone else having this issue?

I always check mine before traveling. Sometimes the latch catch does not return due to gunk buildup. I just spray them with silicon to keep them loose...

I learned to grasp the very bottom corner on the locking side of each door and give them a good (flex) tug to ensure they are in fact closed and the latches are engaged in part with my pre-departure / pull away checks. Have yet to have one swing open while underway or discover one unlatched upon stopping.
Also have a tendency to do a walk around check at every stop including a tug on the doors just to be sure. We also have a lift with a golf cart so I'm checking tie-downs also....i.e. peace of mind.

We do this also as part of our annual/bi-annual maintenance.

Mine latch at the bottom and I press my leg against each door to ensure closure before hitting the road. It's part of my pre-flight checklist.

That's where min latch, too, but sometimes the "jaw" does not come fully down to engage the locking bar. I always "tug" on mine, to check.

Keep the latches, steps, door hinges etc etc lubricated with this stuff and give each door a tug as one of your last checks before hitting the road.

If this continues to happen, especially to a particular door, you need to adjust the latch. Loosen the bar on the door frame and bring it out toward you an 1/8". You may be just catching the edge of it and springs open when the body flexes.

The screws that hold the latch mechanism do loosen. But, I have had the latch mechanism itself bend and become unusable. You have to take the white protective panel off and assess the situation. At a minimum, you can adjust the bracket as necessary and tighten all the screws.
