Unhappy Battery cable problem, need help

I have a 2001 made and was going to install new flow rite battery systems, easy enough. However when I pulled the battery tray out one of the cables from the negative post was corrorded into two pieces. One about one inch long and still attached to the battery and the other just hanging. Any idea what this cable does? I followed it for about four feet and then it disappears.

The other battery also has a cable that goes from the negative post and I am guessing it goes to the frame for grounding.

Right now the MH is in the driveway but I would like to back it into the garage and plug it in so I can keep the batteries charged. Should I?

Everything appears to be working?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regis

Hi Regis,
I do not know what the cable does. However, there is a reason for the ground wire to be there. You should be able to patch the cable. Make sure the same size cable is used.
