Normally when I push the "use" button on the battery disconnect, I can hear an electric motor run under the dash area, and the power light comes on and everything is good. Now when I push the switch to engage the power, you can hear the motor run, then run again when I release the switch and the power does not come on.

Would anyone know if the battery disconnect switch is powered by the chassis batteries or the house batteries?

Has anyone had this problem? If so, what was the fix.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Here is a LINK with battery disconnect circuit wiring. I would check you ground wiring to this area and any grounds to frame of chassis. I'm not sure motors operate when relay is operating most disconnects operate from chassis battery. You have a DP and this wiring may be in compartment below driver seat area outside.

Thanks for the reply. The link to Intellitec was informative.

However, the link to "11 pages" comes up with nothing.

I believe 007 was trying to show you the result of a search for "battery disconnect". It returned 11 pages when I searched.

Have you had any luck finding the battery disconnect and troubleshooting it? The other link 007 provided has some troubleshooting hints, if these do not help please post what you find and we'll try to help you further.

Good Luck!

Sorry, I was not clear about the "11 pages" link. When I click on it, I get "sorry no matches found". I just checked it just prior to this message and got the same result.

I called Newmar and got some info. However they were not quite as helpfull as I had hoped. So I decided to buy a new disconnect switch and a new disconnect switch control panel.

Newmar wanted $121 for the new control panel. I bought it from a company in Texas for $75.

I bought the new disconnector switch for $57 from another Texas company.

I had both overnighted and they should be here tomorrow (Friday). I overnighted the parts due to us heading out for 3 weeks on Monday. Naturally problems such as these show up just in time for a trip!

I plan on changing the control panel first to see what happens. I'll post the results.

Problem solved.

I replaced the disconnector switch control panel and now the disconnect system works as designed.

It is a simple swap. Unscrew 4 screws, pull the panel out, unplug the one and only plug on the back of the board, attach plug to new board, remount the panel and you are done.

Thanks for the follow up Terry. Did you have any links to companies involved for other members reference?

I purchased the Intellitec battery disconnect control panel from EcoVantage Energy at http://www.ecovantageenergy.com/cata...ms/item233.htm .

The Intellitec battery disconnector switch/relay was bought from PPL Motorhomes at
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...ers/002733.htm .

Both were fast and had the best price at the time.

You hear the clunk when you engage and then it clunks again when you release the switch?

I suspect a bad switch

If you have an Intelletec there is a test procedure in the manual you downloaded

You can do it two ways, the easiest is to hook up a test light.. You hook it to the two test points indicated for the battery disconenct that is malfunctioning. IF the light is on when no one is pushing the button, you have a bad control switch.
