Yesterday I was testing my autogen start for low voltage...its set to about 11.8 volts. I started with a full charge and turned on the inverter and watched tv outside...nothing else was turned on..the microwave was just plugged in on standby. After about 1 hour or so, the gen started..I checked the house batt voltage and they were at about 11.8 volts. Do they run down that fast with just a TV on? I figured Id get more run time than that...

Hi! There is no question that you should get a lot more than 1 hour before the Magnum kicks in. I would be looking for a battery problem or something that is pulling them down, We also can get a least 3 or 4 hours before Genset will kick. It would not hurt to call Magnum and get a direction from them. I have had good luck with them on the phone. Maybe the settings for the inverter are not right and you are not getting a full charge? Paul

I've got 8 house batteries as it is all electric. The inverter is a Magnum 3100 watt. Dry camped with electric frig., sat dish, 40" TV, micro on stand by, and auto genset start set at 11.8 v. Depending on lighting load at night, it is capable of operating without starting for near 24 hours or once a day. It then requires at little more than two hours of run time before it will automatically shutdown. This is in cooler enviroments but may vary in hotter climates requiring the frig to run more often.
