Gs, it has to do with just how the battery cables are supported above the batteries. There will be two or three bundles of cable, 00 or larger. These are suspended with loosely installed wire ties to a pair of steel bars above the batts. They must be hung loosely enough that they will accordion out and in, but also just high enough that they won't hang down onto or below the battery tops, or jam behind the battery bank itself. It's a delicate balance, made all the harder by difficult and cumbersome access. By the time you get your arms in there you're working almost totally blind.
