When I bought my Coach the bearings were in sad shape, some of them were just packed with the hard white crust from the acid. I removed the tray and tore the whole thing apart and took all the bearings off and cleaned the up, I had to auctually chip and dig at some of them with a awl (sharp pointed tool) inside of them around the ball bearings. It took some time but I cleaned them up the best I could (soaked them in baking soda w/water)and really for acid being incrusted in them they cleaned up pretty good, repacked them with bearing grease (heavy grease) full, so water or acid water could not get back in them and painted everything and reinstalled it, works great! As you know these don't spin fast so it doesen't matter if they are pitted and have some flat spots on the balls, it slides and works just fine and it has been 3 years now.
