some bedroom lights have a dimmer switch; check to make sure they aren't dimmed too much. if there is a dimmer, no idea where it is in a dutch star.

On our 2002 DS, the switch is on the light itself, small twist type switch. The light strip you have I believe was added by a previous owner.
The only wall switch for a light in the bedroom operated the ceiling light.
Hope this helps -

Hi Martineau,
Consider checking for power at the bulb socket. If no power, the main 12 VDC fuse panel should have a fuse marked Bedroom. Check the fuse and for power to the fuse. Once you find power, you can work toward the bulb to determine where the loss of power is. I had to replace both my bedroom reading light fixture switches. Both were very poor quality.
