Bedroom Slide stops half extended

2015 Baystar 3308; bedroom slide extends out way of the travel makes a popping noise, slide stops moving, motor runs keeps running, popping noise continues until I quit pushing the control button.(which I stop immediately) Removed all under bed access covers to slide mechanism, visually inspected motor, bearings and sprocket drive, see no obvious problem. Visually inspected underneath bed , side of bed, slide manually locks, no obvious blockage. Visually inspected outsides of motorhome slide no obstructions observed. Ran finger inside slide gasket no obstruction, top of slide is tilted inward about 1/2 more than bottom, but I feel that is normal. I believe the slide acts like it is blocked and the sprocket nubs are making the noise jumping out of the rectangle steel extension bar. Probably over my head but I feel it has to do with sprocket/extension bar, will call Newmar tomorrow, but I thought someone might have seen a similar problem.

Your stop nuts on slide stop rod may be loose not sure you have this picture under bed but check anyway.
You may also have stop rods like this under slide in compatment.

I had a similar experience with my 2003 Mountain Aire this summer. Turns out the gear inside the gear motor stripped several teeth. The slide would go out about half way then stop and make noise. With your bed raised, when you try to extend your slide past the point where it stopped, can yo see the trans torque coupler turning? If not, you probably have a stripped gear. If it is turning, I can’t help you.

Newmar had the motor in stock but it was pricey. After replacing the motor, I had to adjust the slide out controller to reduce the current limit.

We had the same exact problem a couple of weeks ago on our 2000 DSDP bedroom slide. I did all the things that you mention in your post and read numerous things on the workings of the slide mechanism. I still was unsure. Called a mobile technician. He removed the motor and disassembled and there were two broke teeth inside the motor. Newmar had it in stock and it was approximately $380 plus shipping. The tech installed it and charged me $450 in labor which I thought was high. All worked well until the next time we used it and the motor would run but slide wasn't moving. Thankfully I got my education on how it works and I knew the trans torque nut wasn't tight enough. Tightened it myself and we are working again. Your problem sounds exactly the same. That motor is easy to replace if that is what it is.

The gear housing maybe a replacement by its self and gears can just be changed by itself the parts can be found in one of our sponsors link RV UPGRADES top of forum in Venders list prices maybe cheaper.
