We are beginning our 3rd year in a 2005 DSDP 4009 (last year w/3year warranty.) Since we will be within "striking distance" of Nappanee this spring, I thought I'd make it up there (from Atlanta) to have them go over the coach to fix a lot of little stuff. I've heard that going in the summer months they only allow for whatever problem you bring them. I want someone who really knows the coach to look for stuff I don't even know to look for! So, obviously June thru August is out (and our 3 years ends in September, plus, we'll probably be back in the NW by then.) So, what's the best advice on how late in the spring can I go and still get that little "extra" service? I'm hoping you'll say April anyway - I am no fan of snow!

Newmar wants a list of items in advance so that the proper amount of time can be alloted.

Newmar's paper work states that only the items on the list will be addressed, but I have always been allowed to add whatever else needs to be addressed after I arrived at the factory, and so has most everyone else as fas I know.

The warmer it gets, the busier they get.

You mentioned this spring, but that's history.

Next spring is a little far out to predict the workload, but I would think April would be much better than the summer.

No thanks! I've read about your "snow time in Nappanee!" I think I'll watch the weather channel and try to hit a good week next April. I'll have another 3-4K miles on the coach by then too.

When I went to repair center they would take 7 items on your list. Had one coach with the seven and was there 4 days they rebuilt a bedroom door, ripped out 98 KS-3765 corian 1/8" thick counter built on 3/4' masonite board and gave me 1/2" corian. Just because of hair line cracks in a corner.
Even changed stuff I didn't have on list. Someone is driving a 98 KS-3765 with that 1/2" corian counter some where.

Doesn't Newmar offer a discounted labor rate in the winter?

January,February and March there is a $20 per hour reduction in labor rates...A GREAT time to have those retail items addressed.

Last year the discounted labor rate started before Thanksgiving.

Call if you're planning to go.

I know that Jan - Mar sound bad but, the service is great. Everyone seems to have more time and patience so you can get a lot of questions answered.

I met and spent time with Jonah and Devon who are the service leads for each building. Jonah is the overall supervisor too. I got to spend 15 minutes with the lead electrical engineer one morning just discussing how the inverter system works, why certain things are set-up the way they are etc.

BTW, I'm not highline.

You will be able to essentially get a private factory tour. I'm sure Darla shares a lot more in one on one situations. Rates are lower as mentioned for non-warranty work.

Bob and others laugh at me but, I'm from Buffalo, so Nappanee is balmy in the winter for me.

We already have an appointment for warranty work for mid-april 08...Our last chance to have items done on our 05 MACA...
Our experiences have all been positive at Newmar. We start with a list of items we need repaired or checked, then have no problem adding items by phone...The folks there are very obliging and we found the staff just super..The only difficulty is getting up so early!!!!

Already have an appointment for April 08 ?!! I didn't know ANYONE worked that far out! Since this will be my first time, how do I make an appointment? Do I have to have my list complete before the appointment, or can I add to it later? Thanks for the reply and your experience.
