Beware of the front fascia recall

Picked up my unit today from the dealer and questioned if the FWS fascia recall had been completed. The told me that it was not part of the recall and pulled at it saying see it’s not one of the fascia that been held in place with magnets. So I drove it less than a mile, across the street to the campground to spend the night. Well the first speed bump I hit, it came flying off and into the passenger seat, shattering the cup holder on the passenger side. Had the DW been there, she would have had a trip to the ER at minimum. If you have a 2017, give that thing a good tug to make sure it’s not going to come flying off.
Now what, where do I go from here, how do I know that any of the recalls and service bulletins have been handled. Do I have any further recourse since this was a DOT/NHTSA safety recall.

We have a 2017 Dutch Star. Really need to know what facia you are discussing. Ours is a 4369 and the FWS is on drivers side.

Can't involve my '16 dutchstar. We drove rt 10 in Louisiana. If items didn't come loose there they are firmly secured.

Your biggest problems are as you stated, how do you know if any of the recalls were completed and can you ever trust your dealer again?

DD always helps to be more specific. What coach, model etc, photos etc always help. Your profile says you have a 2017 DS 37'. The recall/TSB may have been specific to that model.

Beware of the front fascia recall

So in my frame of mind yesterday, I obviously did not include enough info to be useful to the Newmar Community. I have a 2017 Dutchstar 3736. The part that I am talking about is the trim surrounding the FWS on the driver side just behind the driver seat. The three photos attached depict it first where it should be and then where it landed.Click image for larger version

In your second photo, it appears that your driver's seat is well back and perhaps contacting the slide. Maybe the seat levering against the fascia as you moved or the coach flexed caused it to detach. Still shouldn't happen, but perhaps this explains the mechanism that caused it.

My fascia is attached with a couple of very strong door latches and doesn't come off easily. Looks like Newmar needs to do the same.
