Thanks to everyone for the informative posts, will try some of the trouble shooting steps mentioned .

It's fixed! After doing some trouble shooting and wasn't able to verify which part was failing (bird module or relay) I called Intellitec, maker of the bird, and a tech there helped me identify the culprit which ended up being the bird module. Used a meter of the coach terminal and it read 13.2 (good) then checked the chassis terminal and it read .05 which meant the Bird was bad. Ordered a new one (which arrived the next day) and chassis batteries are now being charged. Happy day. Intellitec's tech support is outstanding. Thanks again to all the members here for their posts, what a great forum.

The Bird is a nice system and explained very well in the " Tips" section so nicely maintained by the folks here with the factory papers scanned in to explain the operation.
