I recently had left turn / stop 10A fuses blowing occasionally while towing. I could not get the problem to surface with static (non-moving) tests. It was time to do a bit more detailed research. Using the multi-meter, I checked out the tow vehicle from the blue ox socket. All resistance was normal on each of the legs. I also checked from the coach socket and could not find a problem. I removed the tape to check the blue ox splice into the coach harness and no shorts or issues there. Then it hit me... that Blue Ox electric cable might have an issue. It is fairly new and looks like it just came out of the box. I pulled off each of the metal end covers and found the problem. The screw holding in the left turn cable was loose (almost out) and would hit the metal housing from time to time. That was causing a short and blown fuse. Several other screws were loose on that end. The other end of the cable had the ground wire screw completely out and several others loose.
Just wanted to give a heads-up. Those connections inside the Blue Ox electric cable (or other brands too?) might need maintenance attention too.
