Hello there. Have been looking and researching for my first mo-ho and after much looking and limited funds, I've found the perfect "I think for me anyway" one. Put a deposit on a 2002 Newmar Kountry Star 3566, with 18,000 miles and looks absolutly brand new. $66,500. And has everything. Looks unbelivable compared to other units in the same price range. I'm going back next week for a complete check of everything. "printed out the checklist from this forum, Thanks!" Has maintence records from previous owners. Was previously bought new in late 02 and driven to Florida and back to Michigan 3 winters. Traded up.
This unit seems almost too good to be true. Is it? Or was everything else I've looked at overpriced.
Your comments will be greatly appreciated!

to wyneedge;

i have an 02 mountain aire diesel pusher, before this an 2000 mountian aire on a ford. most; not all newmar owners stay with newmar, they build a quality coach and stsnd behind them. the 02 you speak of was covered by the 36/36 warranty so the previous owner should have any problems taken care of. i hope you haven't waited too long, newmars don't stay on used lots very long. you didn't say what previous owner traded up to. the answer could be further testimony as to newmar. good luck iif you buy the ks.. hope info is helpful

thanks ...ajbjrvers

wynedge sounds like a pretty good deal. Just make sure you go through the the MH from one end to the other top to bottom. One item to pay particular attention to is tires. Make sure you check the DOT dates. Tires should be replaced every 5 years even if they look real good (do search on tires). You didn't say if this was being sold by a private individual or a dealer. If being sold by a private party you might want to have a qualified RV tech go over the MH for you if you aren't comfortable. If by dealer make sure you get some type of warranty for a specified time (usually 30-60 days).
Have fun, enjoy, and take your time going over the MH.

wynedge, welcome to irv2

Hello to you and welcome as a future owner in the Newmar family. I have picked up some pretty good MH's new an used in the Newmar line. You will find that it is a well put together coach and they stand up to use. Its a good thing you put a deposit, two coachs I traded were gone before I had transfered my stuff to the new coach. When you get your coach come back and fill out your sig-profile so we know about it and join the Newmar forum with us. Good luck an happy RVing. "007"

It's at a dealer and they are going thru it this week. And like I said I got the check list from one of these forums with so many things I'd never have thought of. So I'll be spending alot of time next Monday going thru everything.

Actually, when I looked at it and the salesmen made me an offer I accepted, He found out the unit was being held for another person who looked at it just two days earlier pending a price for his 5er tradein. Told me he didn't think the deal would go thru because they wouldn't be giving him as much for the trade as he wanted. So took my # and said would call later that day to let me know. He called and said the guy still wanted it even without the trade. I said I guess it was meant to be. Then the next day I got another call and he said the other guy wasn't able to secure financing, I was next in line, But they had another couple also interested, Did I still want it. I said for the price I was quoted, sure.
Also thanks for all the encouragement. It sure looks like a quality coach compared to what else is out there. I'll let you know how the inpection goes.

Hi Wayne,

Think you will be happy with Newmar - I am. I am looking to trade to Kountry Star Diesel Pusher. I am selling my 2003 Mountainaire model 3778 on Workhorse Chassis. It is a great coach, loaded, 22,400 miles with 7 months factory warranty left on it. If your deal falls thruI'm selling for half the cost of new one. similar new one is double what I'm asking.

Just thought I would give my two cents worth as I owned two other coaches before the Newmar, both Holiday Ramblers, I found Newmar to be much better than either of those.

We purchases a new 2002 KS-3560 in Oct. 2003 for the Mid 86,000 inc.TT&L...solid surface countertop, dual AC, 65KW generator W-22 and thought it was the best bargain in the country....now, with 28,000 miles some 120 RV parks later, towing a GMC Sonoma every mile we still feel that we made a great choice. When/If we upgrade Newmar will be our coach of choice again. GO FOR IT and feel free to visit our personal web site at http://Jatexas.com

(I don't have Karma...but I try harder)
