Still no luck, I got a complete wiring diagram and have power to the relay and fuse in the left front fuse compartment. We have been checking the fuse compartment on the right rear side but can't seem to find the brake light words. The diagram shows a relay and grounding stud along with feed from the battery? The relay is fed from the battery and the relay up front. Any other help would be grateful

Rangerred-

Here's a link to a wiring diagram for a 2005 Kountry Star:

http://www.spartanchassis.com/cps/lo...8514623750.pdf

from this iRV2 thread:

Newmar Spartan 2005 MA Electrical guide

I dunno... When i look at sheet 92 of that diagram set it seems to me the place to start is to make sure the STOP PRESS SW is putting out 12V when you press the brake pedal. That switch's output goes to the TURN SIGNAL SWITCH, the STOP LT relay, and the SERVICE BRAKE STATUS relay, and is the only common element that I see that feeds both the CHMSL and the brake lights at the rear of the coach.

I could be incorrect, though!

NOTE: One place you can check the STOP PRESS SW is at the TOW VEHICLE connector, pin 5. That connector is the one that is used for an electric brake controller. It should be under the dash.

Thanks to all who helped, the problem is ground under the positive lead on the. the previous owner (or some one else) had wired wrong. the fuses and relay for the brakes are in the harness towards the rear of the unit strapped to the frame. Problem is solved and no damage done just frustrated by somebody not paying attention.
