Brandmotion QI wireless charging pad for 2016 VTDP...

Just thought I'd share a recent finding.

Those of you with 2016 Ventanas have a wireless cellphone charger manufactured by BrandMotion.

We have Samsung S6 phones with UAG cases. We have a difficult time getting the charging station to recognize the phone. I contacted BrandMotion about the issue...and come to find out that they are working on manufacturing a thinner rubber mat. Many phone/phone case combinations work well with the original design...our Samsung S4 with an aftermarket charging coil and UAG case worked fine...as I dropped it into one of the cradles during the factory tour. Other phones...like our S6, don't work as well. We can take the rubber mat completely off the cradle....and the phone charges fine. We are, however, looking forward to a thinner mat that will allow our phones to connect without having to remove the case or the mat to get it linked.

Just thought I'd share the findings in case anyone else is experiencing this issue.

Any update on this?

I also have a 2106VT and am new to this type of charging.

We have iPhones which require a flat wafer pad attached to the phone.

My second one has just quit after a few days, just like the first one did.

The blue light does not change to green even without the rubber pad.

I am wondering if I just got two bad wafers or there is something wrong with my charging pad.

I'm following this. I have a 2016 Vt as well and we don't know what we need to buy for our iPhones in order for us to use the charger. Please advise.

I have a Qi FDMC 1107 on my 5c. Not bulky at all, but doesn't offer much protection if you drop kick it out the door and down the steps, which i have done with a previous phone. (Still worked, with a Seidio case.)
DW has a Mophie on her 7+. Somewhat bulkier, but perhaps a little more rugged.
With both chargers, getting the phone aligned just right is important. And it can take up to 15 sec for the light to go from blue to green.
The tray on the VTDP is a perfect place to toss key fobs, credit cards, etc. But you run the risk of wiping out the mag stripe or programing. Anybody figure out how to turn the charger off? Apparently DSDP's have an ON/OFF switch?

No...Brandmotion took my email address...but have never contacted me about the thinner pad.

I would grab a friend with a Samsung and have them drop their phone in the tray. The alignment has to be pretty spot on...so it may take some trail attempts to find the sweet spot.

I have continued to use mine without the pad...no particularly attractive...but functional.

We finally gave up trying to get it to work effectively with our iPhones. With all the built in USB ports in the general cockpit area, plus the 12v receptacles we added, and the pain and unreliability of the required Apple interface, we have opted to use the tray for other uses. Some people seem to have had better experiences with this than we have. Must work better with Samsung than Apple.

Both our Motorola and LG phones work great on them. We started using wireless charging about 5 years ago and do not buy a phone unless it has wireless changing.
