Did you order new, and if so, Was Fiberglas standard or optional?
Curious.

IT was actually a new 2013 left over. They didn't make our floorplan in '14. The fiberglass roof was an option. We had had a Revolution LE with the fiberglass roof, so I was happy that this was the same.

I have to say though, if we could have only gotten our desired floorplan with the Brite-Tek roof, that would not have been a deal breaker for us.

I owned a Dutch Star with Brite Tek, for 11 years - not one issue or repair in the 11 years. I talked to a dealer, if you are buying a Dutch Star or higher the dealer said it COULD hurt re-sell - because of perception. On a Ventana or any Gas model Brite Tek doesn't hurt re-sell. Some will want it, but Dealer has also told me many, many more problems over the years with Fiberglas. It gets bridle and cracks - Brite Tek doesn't seem to do that.

Finally, I had fiberglas trim connecting my brite tek top to side walls, that cracked and had to be repaired twice - but not the roof. Take that for what it is worth.

Enjoy your new coach!

Had fiberglass roof on my last coach...IMHO it is noisier. Brite tek on current coach has been easy to keep clean...wash a couple of times a year and apply 303 protectant. It look like new after 4 years.
Fiberglass took more work to wash and wax.

While at MCD shades in McKinney Texas we got hit with a bad hail storm. Brite tek roof had not a mark on it....but the transition strip from brite tek to walls which I think is aluminum took some good hits...only visible from the top and cannot see them from the ground so did not need to repair.
The coach next to us had a fiberglass roof and he had some damage that needed repair.
Was a first for me.

Our '04 MADP has a fiberglass roof standard, not an option.

Well you all have good points , from SO California here don't even think hail. I can also say that here in So Cal they all seem to be ordered with the fiberglass option.

My Brite Tek roof is 15 years old this year (2017). This past week, I Spent an hour or so cleaning and re-caulking screwheads and seams. This roof has held up exceptionally well and shows no sign of any wear. I clean it twice a year with soap and water. Very low maintenance.

Previous coach had fiberglass roof, when it rained hard the noise was so loud you could not hear the TV without turning up the volume.
I love this BT roof. So quite in the rain.

Was your previous coach a Newmar as well?

I would like to see a BriteTek roof. I climbed up a ladder at the Newmar display at the Tampa show and everything looked like fiberglass. Does any dealers not order the fiberglass roofs.

Depends on the model whether standard or optional. You don't say what models you looked at.

So why would you assume that others didn't have both at some point and made the comments based on having both. We have had both and have the brite tek now and it is much quieter overall. Also I'm not sure if it's the extra insulation package we have or not but it seems to control the heat/cold much better. Easy to take care of, looks like new evertime I wash it, and any roof will get damaged if you hit tree limbs or other low hanging objects.

It was a Ventana LE that I climbed the ladder on. I could see the roofs for Ventana, Dutch Star and Ventana LE models.
