We are very new to RVing so please excuse this dumb question

We bought a small Webber BBQ grill and need to know if we can connect it to our propane tank rather than carring around a gas bottle with us.

We have recently purchased a 2000 Newmar Kountry Star and are just getting aquainted with it so I am sure I will have many questions for all you seasoned RV'ers out there.

Yes you can. Just need to install another fitting in your propane line. You can buy them at camping world or rvupgrades.

Welcome to the forum, Sandie! No question is too dumb to answer, and yours is not dumb!

We have a Weber grill that uses the small disposable propane bottles, we bought an Extend-A-Stay Deluxe which allows you to hook up these types of appliances to your RV propane tank.

RV Upgrades sells this, this is the link:

http://www.rvupgradestore.com/index....OD&ProdID=1236

The "Deluxe" version allows you to do what you want to do. Both these allow you to hook another gas bottle to your RV so you don't use all your propane up when staying for an extended time in a CG. Don't get the Standard kit, as it does not allow you to hook up appliances.

There is another product, about $40 cheaper called Extend-a-Flow which just allow you to hook up appliances, but IMHO the cost difference was not enough to justify buying the cheaper one, especially because we may need to hook up a bigger gas bottle if we get to camp in the coach for extended periods. Here is the link to that one:

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum and the world of RVing ! As a new Newmar owner myself, I'm sure you will enjoy your coach.

Your question was pretty well answered above, I too have the Extend-a-stay version as it is more versatile. Wouldn't be without one.

I'm sure you will find a wealth of info and answers to all your questions here.

Thanks all! This is just what I needed. Appreicate the help. I am sure I will be back with more questions. Getting used to the RV enviornment has been interesting. Still a lot we don't don't about using the Kountry Star but so far it has been very comfortable and fulfilling all our needs and that of our two labrador retreivers as well

I am also looking for a method to hook my Coleman Roadtrip BBQ to my 18 gallon RV tank. Looked at the extend-a-flow and it doesn't include a shutoff valve on the tee. Sooo, to hook up the BBQ I would have to shut off the tank, take the cap off of the tee, hook the hose and BBQ up to the tee, and turn the tank back on. Sound about right?

Yes, that's the way I do it.

You don't really have to, because the hoses with the "disposable bottle" connectors have valves in the hose connectors, but I prefer to do it that way.

Go to Marshall Brass - Recreational Vehicle and Outdoor Cooking Products

Scroll down till the products show up

If you have a TT or 5er or PUP with removable Part # 535-00 or 538-00

If you have a class A with a bolted in place tank Part # 537-00

MOST RV stores, Including Camping world, Carry either this product line or one just like it.

You may also wish to pick up an extra 10 feet of hose
