Canyon Star 3641 Television Trouble

Hello,

I have just recently purchased and brought home a 2008 Newmar Canyon Star model # 3641. We went through the coach with the technician upon pick up and he showed us how to use and turn on the two televisions stents located in the front and rear of the coach. They never however actually turned them on. Upon getting the coach home and starting to familiarize ourselves with it we noticed that there was no power light coming off of the tvs themselves. They also will not turn on. The rear bedroom tv has an insignia converter box and it also is getting no power. We are hooked up to 30 amp shore power and checked that all circuits are powered on but the tvs are still not getting any power. The actual box in the front of the coach that controls all of the tvs, dvd players, etc., gets power and has a red light when turned on but not the tvs. Any help anyone could give would be much appreciated on what we are missing to get power to these tvs.

Thank you!!!

Check all the ground fault outlets to see if one is tripped. They hook them together in the wierd'est fashion. So don't be surprised if the one that runs the TV is in the farthest part away from it. It can drive a guy crazy finding the outlet.

Congratulations on the new RV! Can you access the 120 v outlets the TVs are plugged into? The front TV outlet is switched off by the ignition to prevent the driver from watching TV while driving. You mentioned that all the circuit breakers are on, but did you check the GFI outlets? Often the GFI outlet will also power a second (or more) outlet 'downstream' so it also is protected. If the GFI is tripped in the bathroom, for instance, it might also cause the outlet in the bedroom to be off. Use a multimeter or lamp to check to see if all the outlets are on. Trip and reset the GFI outlets to make sure each works as is should. If all else fails, call the technician at the place that gave you the walk through and ask them for ideas. Good luck with it.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. We checked the ground faults and reset them but still no luck. The weirdest thing is the box in the front of the coach that controls the tv and DVD players gets power just not the tvs and all the outlets around the tvs get power as well. I will be calling the tech on Monday as they are not opened today but wanted to see if anyone on here had any suggestions before then. Thanks again for the suggestions!! We are so excited to use the unit after having a travel trailer for 5 years this is our dream rig!!

Welcome to the forum & irv2.
Your front TV will possibly be off a small inverter that maybe located in storage compartment on passenger side and on the inverter there maybe a GFI outlet that has to be reset.
The bedroom maybe off a GFI circuit that you can check other outlets same circuit with meter or test lamp.
Here is a Owners Guide for your model coach. Here is a Brochure also will have weights, tank sizes etc, etc.
Are these TV's LCD's or older type TV's. Dealers have been known to swap appliances and maybe these are not plugged in by mistake???
You have to remove the dress plate to see behind the TV input cable box and maybe same with bedroom.

Congrats with your new Newmar and welcome to the Newmar family many safe travels for you.

Thank you so much for the tips. We will look into the inverter and see if there are any other gfci outlets as we only noticed one in the bathroom. We will check the kitchen for one. Any ideas on if there would be a gfci hidden outlet somewhere in the kitchen?? Thanks!!

Most GFI;s should be where they can be seen like bathrooms.
The GFI on small inverter 300 or 600 watt, for the TV and tape or DVD is mounted in the inverter face and you may overlook it.
My coach only has two in each bathroom non in kitchen if you have a washer maybe one in the closet.

The red light you see is 12 volt power not 110 volt
