We are considering purchasing a Canyon Star 3810 for full-time. We expect to be fairly mobile throughout the country including the mountainous areas of the country. I am a little concerned about the ability of a gas engine handle a 39' motor home and to withstand the rigors of our travel plans. Does anybody have experience with a 3810? I am interested in hearing your thoughts about the quality and performance of the 3810. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum gfstryder & irv2.
Is it a new 2012 or use coach?
The 2012's come with the Ford chassis V-10 chassis, thought they may have had a FRED chassis diesel but they do not.
The weight for the coach should not be a problem.
The new Ford chassis F-53 is good for power and has the new transmission. Far better than my older Fords.
You can build your own to give you some idea of price.
Good luck in your quest.

gfstryder - Welcome to the forum. I have a 37' CanyonStar gas coach with the Ford V-10 and have driven over 15k miles in the past two years all over the country, including many mountain miles in the west and southwest. While you won't set any speed records on mountain grades, the gasser will do just fine. IMO you can't beat the quality of a Newmar coach and we love our Canyon Star.
