Has anyone else experienced water damage to the garage floor of their toy hauler? I recently purchased one and found that the floor is spongy. I had it checked out and I am told that it has, indeed, gotten wet to the point that the entire floor will have to be replaced to the tune of perhaps $7500.

Have you found the source of the water leak and repaired it? With the cost to repair the damage already done, it must have had water intrusion for a long time.

Not as yet. They will be doing a pressure test when they replace the floor.

Replace the floor on the whole length? Or just the tool hauler area?
If just the back, that sounds like a way too expensive fix.

I would figure out the source of the problem before ripping anything apart.

Do you know if it's getting wet from above or from below from road splash?

Was the interior of the floor wet? Was it visible?

What material is on to of the plywood?

Replacing the floor is a couple day effort if it's just the toy hauler part. Not a big deal. Heck, it might be a day job.

I would be real surprised if the whole floor length is bad and no one noticed it wet? If the appliances / cabinets all need to be removed, then yes, that's a big job.

Just the floor in the garage. Had two estimates. They are estimating 40 hours of labor. I'm told they will have to take off the garage door as well. One thought it was coming from underneath while the other did not. The interior was not wet nor was water visible. On top of the plywood is what looks like a rubber mat.

Never heard of water damaging concrete. Usually cures it more.

gotta be damage from underneath. water intrusion while driving.

any signs of entry from cargo bays underneath ?

What if previous owner used a water hose to clean off top of floor in garage.

Maybe he didn't know what kind of a floor was under matting.

Still sounds like a lot of hours for that amount of work. But of course I am not there looking at it. Good job for DIY.

It does sounds like a lot of hours. But, the fact that I took it to two different RV places I guess it is a lot of work. Actually, one estimated 40 hours and the other estimated 50 hours. Also, keep in mind that the sides lay on top of the floor. So, they both told me that they will probably have to weld supports under the floor to the frame. I'm going to take it to one more place on April 5th.

As far as DIY, I simply don't have the tools for that anymore. Got rid of most of my tools when I went full timing.
