Canyon Star tv hook up

Getting a new CS and have directv. It comes with HDMI cables, a $946 option !
I guess from resding older posts on here by flyingdiver and bchaump that I can just put my non dvr hd reciever in the front and my non dvr sd reciever in the BR and am good to go.
I may upgrade the sd reciever which we use now in my KSDP. The HD reciever has been unplugged for 6 mos. and may need to be activated again.
Shpuld I anticipate any trouble?
DW will have my [moderator edit] if I can't get her her RedSox right away.

Great News on your new coach!! we have been enjoying our new CS. Went with HDMI cables also, only way to go with the new HD Tv's. Does your receiver havea HDMI output?

My old receiver DID NOT, I ended up changing to FIOS at home and moved to Dish so I could get the HD & SD channels.

Today we got our CS and found out even though it has a $946 hdmi cable option they do not include a short cable to go from the reciever to the wall plug. Gofigga.

GOOD NEWS you have it!!!!! Post some pics!!

Cabling

If you check my threads , I talked also of some the the cabling issues from Newmar. Their design folks are lacking a clear understanding of what RVer's need. Also PDF John has some great pics and redid his cabinet layout above the drivers seat.

I have since made similar changes in my cabinet and ran a new cable to the cabinet for my portable satellite dish.

Just curious..... where are your HDMI cables? Where were you planning on placing the receiver? Where is the antenna booster receptacle?

ps. I have two threads on the CS 3940

The recliner fts me perfect being only 5'10" and 165. We will switch off. Couch is more comfy then the one in the KSDP. and my first time owning flat screen and HDMI . OMG what a picture.
Still haven't got sat up. Got the download from DTV but even though I reactivated the reciever online I don't think the reciever knows it yet as I got an notice to reactivate ? Will call when I can and have them talk me thru it. PITA

TV hookup
I got my hd reciever reactivated and verified.
The winegard dome is up and running. Checked out the signal metr and have 90% on sat 101.
Downloaded all guide stuff and latestup date.
Channel numbers are not bright.
Error code 771.
Cannot select any channel all error code 771.
Did all resets several times including with DTV.
Have the HDMI from walmart 3' hooked up.
Do I need a special HDMIcable ?
Disheartning. Missing Bruins Blackhawks.
No cable either. Am hooked to rv park cable and can't get it to appear on the TV.
I have broadcast TV though.
How does the tv know when you want to switch between cable, sat and broadcast ?
The dome is supposed to be set up for DTV.
I am befuddeled!

You should have a switch box for Ant, Cable, Satellite or tape need to select what you need.
Cable would connect in the electric bay and outlet may have a phone connection also.
See if this helps for connections.

))& thanks for the help.
The salesman came by and he remembered that I must turn off the broadcast antenna "BOOSTER" switch. We had a hardv time finding it. It is located on wall by passenger seat on a 12 volt /coaxe wall plate ?!? Also has a green light. Turned it off and was able to input cable tv and down load channels and get on TV,.
Still am not able to select channels on satallite . Got the guide and all but still 771 code.
I'm hoping dealers techy can call me and guide me thru. Their only 10 mins from me.
Thanks , will update when solved.

Finally got satillite.
Dealer tech called and walked me thru changing the settings in the reciever from slimline 3 to lnb 2 or some such thing. Then we checked sat reception. With the squares with the check marks etc. A simple fix and one that Directv should have been able to remind me about.
Anyway we have the redsox double header today and DW is content.
Next I 'll tackle the bedroom TV.
Also can't get sat on the big tv in the mid section . Is supposed to be the main TV but I can only get all three sources on the front overhead. I am gonna give it a rest until next week as we are traveling back to MA .
Thanks all for help, Bob.
