I have
Newmar 2008 Mountainare / 45’ – 450 Horse Cummins

Model 4528. I am attempting to install a CB Radio. To the left of the stering colum there is a cover plate that inidcates factory prep for CB radio at that location. Inspection finds NO antenna or 12volt prep wire. Have looke for hours. ANY feedback as to WHERE these factory wires may be located without my having to tear out the entire front panels???

Had trouble finding mine too. If you dig around in the wiring under and behind the dash you will find a + and - lead (usually yellow + / white -) and a coax cable with a connector for the antenna. The leads will have a tag on them stating CB. Mine were nowhere near the decal Newmar placed on the dash, I just kept looking til I found them. Good Luck !!

I assume you have assured your coach has the CB prep package.

Welcome Phillip A to the Newmar forum and irv2.
The wires will be there as Dave say's on left side of steering wheel and could be in a plastic bag laying on top of dash wiring. If you had the CB wiring option as a request on the option list with MH build sheet.
Congrats on your new Newmar many safe miles ahead.

Hi Phill

I never did find my CB Prep and ended up putting on A NGP(No Ground Plane) Fyrestyk antennae on the Drivers side "A" post and getting power from the Panel in the front outside Compartment>

Works Good!!

Had the same problem finding the CB wiring. Then I found it by looking under the dash all the way on the left upper corner where at lot of wires is coming in. Look for a CB coax wire and yellow and black wire and follow them to where they end.

I just found mine ina 2008 Dutch Star, while I was chasing an electrical problem. The yellow and white power wires were located inside the driver side console, the antenna in the in the left upper side in the dash

I really believe there's a devious person at each MH factory that delights in hiding the wiring.
