2003 Mountain Aire We have had this coach a year and I have been vacuuming the foam filters in the ceiling. I have tried to remove the plastic "air pointers" without success or wanting to apply more force and break one. I know these plastic things come off but how? Of course I could keep up with the vacuum but I would think a good wash every now and then would be better. Thanks.

The vent covers "snap" out. I use my index finger and thumb from my right hand on one side of center and my finger and thumb from my left hand on the other side of center. I give a firm jerk downwards and the cover snaps right out. I have been doing that in Newmar motorhomes for 12 years and I have never broken one - yet.

I put the filters and vents in warm soapy wash and wash then, then rinse them and let them dry before putting them back in. Actually, I carry two sets of foam filters and when I remove the dirty set I put in the clean set. Then I wash the dirty set and store them until next time.

A slight twist will sometimes help the vent to come off when following Norm4015 instructions. Doesn't take much force to remove them and they snap right back in place

Be sure you try to pull straight down and lessen your chance of breaking a vent(been there done that) they will come out but mine does take some pull to do it. To really clean them they do need to be taken out. I do mine several times a year..

Welcome richvkansas to Newmar forum & irv2.
They all have it right just pull steady downward as you twist it out of hole.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Sloshed through the melting snow to the rig. Yep, it popped right out with a little effort. Thanks.

For those of us who have broken a vent, can anyone suggest where to get replacements? Newmar shows this part has been discontinued.

Try Ron Hoover in Rockport. I picked some up at their dealer in Donna and they told me there was 12 in Rockport. should have got more when I was there but forgot to. $3.95 each. Found our that all of our filter were in the bath and bedroom, tried to install on intake instead and broke a few. cleaned them out in Donna.

After the first few times of using the vacuum I decided it would be easier to have a replacement set. At Walmart I found a sheet of the same material, cut a set, and use the "extra" when I take the dirty ones and wash/dry them. Beats the vacuum!

Ditto and I've broken a few vents in the process.

I found the replacement vents to replace all 12 of the vents in our DSDP. Looked on the bottom of one of the vents there was a website DWIncorp.com. Ordered them at $3.50 each. Check it out for those who are in need. Located in where else? Elkhart, IN.

DWI is a major supplier to the RV manufacturing industry. To the best of my knowledge it is the only supplier for the outside shower quick-disconnect fittings.

Thanks JOI912....Don't need the A/C vents yet but why wait until I do. Ordered some just in case. Your info was really helpful.
