Ceiling lights burned out on 18 London Aire

We now have over 10 ceiling LED lights not working on our 18 LA. We have only used the coach for about 30 days in the first 6 months of owning it. Some of the lights are flicking while others are dim or not working at all. Will be a Newmar rally in Gillette and wanted Newmar to take of this but is this going to be a on going issue? Looks like not a simple job to replace. These look like the same lights used in all Newmar coaches. At least one light a day are going out. Might have close to 20 out by Gillette.

There was a bad batch installed in many 2015 models. Newmar replaced them all, even before some failed. You need to tell Customer Support and put this on your list for Gillette. Insist they are all replaced.

I had 8 of my lights fail as well; but, I have a 2015 with the light problem. I was hoping to get 8 but Newmar sent me a box with enough lights to replace all of them in the coach. Newmar will surely take care of this.

I would call Newmar in advance to make sure they bring enough lights, I’m sure you won’t be the only one, or I would call Newmar Customer service and have them open an issue on this, then order and pay for the lights to bring with you, then return to Newmar for credit back. That’s a lot of lights. I have 2 out in the same time period

Interesting. To date, with two years plus full time in ours, not a single light is out.

Now our last coach seemingly blew at least one of the old halogen bulbs everyday. I eventually replaced them all wit LED.

Talked to Newmar to confirm the 2018 have the “updated” lights...answer Yes
But “we still see some go bad”. Mine failed by 1/2 flickering on-off

I've had the same problem with my 2018 Tiffin Phaeton. I called Tiffin and the told me the got a bad batch of LED lights. They sent be a box of 10 and I think I've replaced 3 or 4 of them. Different coach manufacturers but maybe lights were from the same source.

It sounds like a chronic feature, bad batches of parts installed on the new RVs. If the purchasing dept. shopped for the best and most durable parts, instead of the world's cheapest, Newmar's reputation would be buy it because it is almost always trouble free when you use it.

Tom, that’s a lot of lights. Might want to check your incoming voltage to the light circuit.

I think there are other factors like this many lights being wired in parallel causing voltage drops. I’m also not sure what effect the Can-bus control plays in, and yes QC issues.

Voltage drops should never cause this problem. One that might is people who hit their batteries with an equalisation cycle every couple of weeks and do it in the evening when the lights are on.
