Central Vac

I was under the assumption that central vacs come standard on any higher end unit. From my (well I just sold it) Thor Tuscany to my sons Montana 5th wheel, they had them. Im looking at a 18 Dutch Star 4018, and, NO VACUME! Is this normal or ? How could a rig this expensive not even have an in house vacuum?

Well, it's an option on them, even 2020's. The one you are looking at, previous owner did not want it, or dealer did not have put in for his lot unit. They can be added, but, then you got to store the hose, and attachments. We are getting new Ventana, and definitely did not want vacuum, as they don't work all that well. A Dyson V-11 is what we are looking at now, compact, stores in closet, and no hose stretched out all along the floor when using it. But everyone is different. With used, you can add stuff to your hearts content.

My CC had a sticker price of $749,700. Part of that was the optonal central Dirt Devil central vac that I found too cumbersome to use and bought a Dyson V6 that does just great.
When we ordered our '02 DSDP we passed on the option on it.

I have the dirt devil central vac and I am impressed with it, it is powerful. However, I carry a Dyson v10 and prefer it (Dyson v11 is the latest now). It's just easier to pull out and start vacuuming. I keep the handheld side in my bedroom AV compartment where it's plugged in and charging. I reorganized that compartment side/wall mounting the wally receiver and apple TV (removed the DVD player). I also keep the main part of the wand in there and I keep the other attachments in the drawer below or you could keep them in there too. So central vac is nice but it's not the end all be all so I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm using the intervac in my Ventana, but I'm torn. I've come really close to going the Dyson route. We have several of those at home, and love them.

Since I paid for it, I'm trying to convince myself I like it, but so far, the love is not there.

Had it on my old coach and didn't like it so did not order that option on the Ventana. Would really annoy me if it was standard and I had to do a special order to have it not installed.

We love ours! So nice to do a quick sweep into the floor chute. Great that it reaches to the entrance step storages.

Central Vac was a must have when we bought our Ventana. I use it almost daily. So much easier. Does a great job too. Keep the hose and the accessories under the bed.

It was cumbersome to use the hose in our 2014 DS, when we used it to vacuum the carpeted slides. What we really liked about it though, my could easily sweep the coach into the dustpan when we first arrived at a campground and then Swiffer the floors.

Even better on the 2019, with no carpet, she can sweep anytime, and just sweep it into the powered dustpan. You don't realize how much dirt use to go into the carpets until you get tile floors.

There's a different brand on my 2019 then the 2014 Dirt Devil. The new one has a port on the unit, in the bay, so you can easily vacuum your bays and your toad. We store the hose in the entry step well.

I wouldn't order an all tile floor coach without it. Especially with the exterior port and remote control hose.

Central Vac

We did not like the central vac on our 2019 New Aire. You HAD to use the hose with the remote control to turn it on and use it, there is no dust pan like port on the floor. The round port s an inch or two off the floor and no way to sweep into it. That has been changed back to the dust pan style on the 2020 we ordered so we ordered it again. Thought about the Dyson but we spend 8-9 months per year in our coach so space is at a premium everywhere. All JMHO

So many great comments and experiences! Thanks to ALL of you! My last unit had one and yes it was a bit of a drag to get the hose out BUT it seemed to suck really well and I was able to get things all up well. BUT I also got a Dyson with my Class C and have to say that thing works great as well. The unit we are looking at doesn't have the option (hence my question) so for now I think I will have to go the dyson route unless I just cant stand it and get my RV guy to put one on for me. The amount of dirt and pet hair on a solid surface is basically shocking. Okay so I have five dogs BUT that Roomba in my house is my BEST FRIEND. : )

Don't forget that with a tile floor you are going to need a mop as well.

Ours came with coach. Dealer had it installed.

Wife does not like it so I removed the power unit from the bay today. Really opens up the bay for more storage or just for bigger items.
