Any tips/suggestions on swapping my original 20 CRT tv to a 26" lcd...I presume the 26 is the most appropriate size for the bedroom...Is there an easy way to make it look good when it's done..I think I know how to remove the old one...drill out the 4 wood plugs in the front trim.....mounting hints would be appreciated...also which brand looks/works the best???

I have converted the CRT hole into storage with a cabinet door that looked very close. Always nice to have more storage. Then mount the TV on a braket/arm so you can move it around.

I don't think I can help much with the TV replacement since, I think, mine were different, but....

If your wood plugs are the same as mine, you don't need to drill them out. They are a "push fit" in the hole and can be removed by a twist and pull. You may have to use a pair of pliers... carefully, to not damage the wood plug.

I was lucky t find a Sony HD, flat panel TV in the square format just before they changed all TV's to the rectangular format, so mine fit the square format of the existing TV cabinet.

Hi Footdoc,

Haven't heard from you in a while. Good to see you back.

My rig is still the '02 Mountain Aire. I did this change over about 3 years ago. Go all the way to the end of this thread to see where I am now.

I chose a TV with an internal DVD player for the bedroom so I could get rid of the old stuff up front and put in a Blu Ray player.

I see you commented on this install awhile back. I know you'll be happy with the swap out. This system has been a pleasure to watch and enjoy over the years.

Good luck,
