Charging dash refrigerant

I just had the dash air repaired on my Dutch Star (replaced the expansion valve and recharged the system) but unless they found the leak I'll be adding refrigerant later. I noticed looking under the front hood for the usual charge port that there is one just at the top edge of the generator and another one up high in the left corner by the expansion valve, which I've never seen two on my previous Itasca DP as I had to add a little each summer.

Does anyone know the reason for two ports on the large metal tube, and should it make any difference which one I use? Reading and watching all the Y-tube information no one mentions anything about two charge ports.

This must be a Newmar thing since it wasn't covered under the remaining FL warranty.

Are they in the same hose or one in the low-pressure side and one on the high-pressure side of the expansion valve? You can tell if they are slightly different sized.

Tracing the large hose from ba ck under the body of the coach up and around to the expansion valve both of the charging ports are on the same large hose. One along the top edge of the generator and the other one just before the large hose attaches to the expansion valve. With all the stuff stuffed in that corner I haven't even been able to find a port on the small hose.
