Check Engine Light

Yesterday while stopped at red light check engine light came on and temp gauge showed high temp. After just a minute or so after red light changed and I started to drive the check engine light went out and the temp gauge went back to normal rather quickly. Cummings Isl 8.9 400 HP in our 2011 NewMar Dutch Star. My concern is of course is this going to happen again?? Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Terry

Happened many times to me, but not while stopped. Cummins couldn't find out what was wrong (read all the codes), Newmar Techs were puzzled, and the best advice I had was from a 6th grade student who my wife was telling the story to (his father is a diesel mechanic); "I'd cut the wire to the alarm".

Has it happened again when stopping at red light or parking? Check coolant level and if sensor is plugged in tight. If it happened once, but then hasn't happened, it is one of those head scratchers. Just keep a close eye on it.
