In fairness to DW, the dinner bell has only went off once or twice.
That is why I cook on the grill outside.
Turning on the vent hood fan and the kitchen fan minimizes the dinner bell going off.
Some of the times its going off our food hasn't even been on long enough too burn!!

I consider the fire extinguisher a topping.

I was checking our 2016 VTDP 3709 batteries on time change and found the plastic strips in both, couldn’t believe my eyes.

Thanks for this. New 2018 Bay Star, checked them and the plastic tabs were still in.

Newmar really needs to educate their dealers on this, it is a huge liability issue.

Now granted I have a brand new toast detector!

Hi, finding the plastic tab still in place is just the same as having no battery. Been fulltiming in a 2017 Jayco North fifth wheel for 26 months and two days ago discovered there was no battery in the one smoke detector. So, I sounded the ‘alarm’ on our forum and now many others with my model are making this shocking discovery, even on first run 2016 models. I hear you here...truly a wake up call that this can be a serious issue that as much as these rigs cost, and as excited as new owners are on delivery day, this is the last thing on their minds and dealers are inadvertently skipping this safety check. If the SD maker can’t or won’t include an adhesive yellow ribbon/tape to grab the new owner’s attention, then it’s up to the factory (I say factory) or dealer to step in and affix them, for correct startup-pulling the battery saver tag, or adding the 9v battery if it don’t come with one.
