Checking wheel bearing oil

I need advice on how to remove the center covers on the aluminum wheels on my 2015 DS 4369 so I can check the oil level. Don’t want to muck around and damage the finish, not knowing how they are mounted.
Thanx

Pretty sure they are push on, held with 4 clips. Be sure to line up the cut-outs when you put them back on. I use a small pry bar to pull mine off, put a rag under the pry bar to keep from scratching the aluminum wheel.
Happy Glamping.

Believe you have a Spartan chassis. If so you should have received a Special wrench with your Spartan manual (or CD). Do not try and pry off the center cap, use the wrench!

First look in your black case and find your black hub cap hex wrench.
On the passenger side put wrench on hub and loosen it up,it has opposite threads on driver side.
Remove hub cap.
Oil level should be just below center of hub. Check owners manual.
Also check oil fill cap to make sure it is tight....mine was 3/4 turn loose when I had 200 miles on it.

Thanks Jerry. I’m still to find the Black Newmar case? I’m the second owner.

It’s a black spanner wrench. Looks a lot like the white water filters wrench.

Well, I could not find the wrench, so:
Called the local Freightliner dealer. They were stumped, and finally told me “we don’t sell tools”
Called Newmar. “We do not have these wrenches “
Called FL at Gaffney. Left name and number, hoping someone will call back
Send email to Don that is supposed to sell them. No answer yet?
I have tool that will do it, but will scratch the finish for sure.
Will keep trying.......

Read through these links for information, a flat blade kitchen knife with cloth should pop the disk off or remove the two nuts holding the hub cap on.
Did a search using the new irv2 search engine, posted top of TECH INFORMATION Link or at the top of QT's #3 or the Newbee thread in the CLASS A FORUM.

Spartan has a wrench. Does FL use the same Alcoa rims?

Only fill gear oil level till low line which is were it should be when cool. The high mark is for when warm/hot. One reasons for leakage is over fill wheel hub fluid.

I ordered a wrench from Gaffney. When I get it, will check the oil levels before heading to Memphis in 4 weeks. Thank you all for your help.

Just changed the gear oil on my hubs. I fill to the top full line. When the tire is spinning centrifugal force sends the oil out to the insides of the hub, lowering the level. If you only fill to the lower level there is no margin for a possible leak.
