help, nuts just turn, one came off but the others
just turn. used the tool that came with the rig
plus a socket, same results. I'm currently blasting the nuts to see if that will help.

Ideas?????????

The stainless wheel liners come off with only
two nuts, all others stay on the liner.
The two that come off have nuts inside and they
have an indentation / dimpel on the side that
that looks like a minus sign. ( "-")
Good luck,
Siggy

Phelpo: USUALLY there are either two or three of the cover nuts which are really attached to studs. They are USUALLY identified by indentations, either a pencil eraser-sized dot or a straight line indent about 1/2inch long. SOME of theses nut covers are designed to be pulled OFF, and some (like mine) are to stay on and turn with the nut. Once you remove these liner hold-on nuts, then the rest of the nuts (which are susposed to stay attached to the cover) will come off WITH the cover, exposing the "real" lug nuts holding the steel rim and tire. Hope this helps, but "your results may vary" ED

Bob, There are two of the chrome nuts that are slid onto the retainer nuts. If you can't see the dimmples as described, tap on them with your finger nail. The two that do not sound hollow are the ones. Best you grab the chrome nuts and pull them off. Beneath the chrome nuts you will see the thin retainer nuts. You can use a socket on these if neeeded. Once both are off the cap assembly will nearly fall off.

LUG_NUT: far be it from me to dis-agree with your expertise-especially in light of your screen name but there are so many different brands and styles of wheel simulator covers it is just about impossible to "know" what to do. My 03 has full size lug nuts under two chrome nut covers and the covers don't/won't come off the nuts, I use a 1-1/8" (I think) socket and pull handle to unscrew these two "filled" covered nuts and then the wheel cover slides off of the two studs to expose the 8 "real" lug nuts.
