Cleaning A/C Ducts

My coach is a 1999 DS. I am concerned that, with the ducted system, how would you go about cleaning the air ducts?

Do you need to clean the outside unit too?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You should clean the little round filters when they look like they need it but I wouldn't be snaking anything into the ducts as they might be brittle after all these years. But thats just me.
