Cleaning fiberglass roof

Do you just pressure wash your fiberglass roof or do you soap then rinse?

So far for me (1 year) rain has been sufficient. Some say they use 303, that is going to make it slick, in my opinion 303 lasts about a day for protection. It's fiberglass, what do we do with fiberglass boats? Wax them. I'm still pondering what to do with mine from leave it alone to applying something such as wax...we'll see.

I wash my fibreglass roof with Dawn dish soap in a bucket of water, with bristle brush and rinse. Then wash sides (clear coat) with good quality car wash soap and soft RV brush/microfibre wash kit.

Twice a year. I have not waxed it yet.....

I will use Dawn dish soap and a soft brush or sponge.
I will never wax it as I have to walk up there and don't want to add to the slickness.

The fiberglass roof on my Ventana was rough and appeared to be oxidized straight from the dealer. It was outside from August 2016 until December 2016 when I got it home. I hand scrubbed the roof with Meguiars car wash then applied Meguiars cleaner polish and hand buffed. Looked pretty good and felt smooth in most places. There are some places where it appears the fiberglass gelcoat is thin and rough. So far it has been hand washed/cleaned after each trip. (~15). It has been hand waxed (spring/fall) 5+ more times with Meguiars cleaner polish and power buffed once. Tried Meguiars paste wax, but that was too much work. Yes, the roof is slick and I would not want to go on the roof if its wet. Just finished a 4 week trip and I will be washing and waxing. Not sure what I will do to the roof other than washing. Depends on how it feels and looks once clean. I believe the roof and under carriage are as important as any other part of the motorhome.

I wash the roof with car wash soap and water and a soft brush whenever I wash the coach which is 4-5 times a year. Twice a year I wax the roof using Optimum spray wax.It goes on easy and provides UV protection.
The sides of the coach are washed with a Mary Moppins wool pad and it gets waxed 2x a year, but with either paste or liquid wax.

I live in the woods...powerwash. Then again, it is my favorite tool, and I use them too much. but living on the woods on a lake it's an essential tool to keep neat.
If there is a lot of leaves and dirt on the finish, then I get rid of 95% with a quick powerwash. If I want to get it clean to the next level, then soap and a soft brush followed by a powerwash rinse.

I wash the roof almost every time I wash the coach. I use a hog hair brush and afterward I change to the Mary Moppins wool pad & do the rest of the coach. I also think waxing is too dangerous. I love 303, use it on tires etc. but is too expensive for too little return to do a whole roof.

Hose and brush, after it dries I then use a mop from Dollar Tree to spread 303 around.

I do not believe in pressure washing. I think it pushes water and dirt where it should not be. I use Murphies oil soap and a little bleach then coat with Heng roof coating. Then I leave it alone and even avoid walking on it if possible.
Good Luck and keep us posted please. "Q"
